Deputy Manager

About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to lead and support all aspects of the care home's operations. This is a
floor-based leadership role
, meaning you'll be actively involved in care delivery, visible to residents and staff, and available to provide real-time support and guidance.
You'll help drive standards, support staff development, and ensure care is delivered in line with best practices, regulatory expectations, and the personal needs of each resident.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service and deputise in their absence
Provide strong, visible leadership to the care team
Oversee and support care planning, risk assessments, and clinical documentation
Ensure delivery of person-centred care that promotes dignity, choice, and well-being
Assist with staff supervision, development, and performance management
Help coordinate rotas and ensure appropriate skill mix on each shift
Contribute to quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement
Promote effective communication across departments and with external professionals
Handle complaints, concerns, and safeguarding matters appropriately
Requirements
Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care
Previous experience in a senior care or team leader role within a care setting
Strong understanding of CQC standards and care legislation
Excellent leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills
Commitment to hands-on support and a team-focused culture
Willingness to undertake or already possess a management qualification
