, combining hands-on work with children alongside leadership and management responsibilities. You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the setting, supporting staff, ensuring high-quality care and education, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Act as
Duty Manager
, overseeing the smooth daily operation of the setting
Work directly
within the room
, leading by example and supporting children's learning and development
Support and supervise staff, offering guidance and mentoring where needed
Ensure compliance with
EYFS
, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements
Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and professionals
Manage ratios, staff deployment, and daily routines
Support the Manager/Deputy Manager with administrative and leadership tasks
Promote a positive, inclusive, and child-centred ethos
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a
Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years
(Level 5/6 desirable)
Has previous experience in a
senior or leadership role
within an Early Years setting
Is confident managing a room while taking on wider setting responsibilities
Has strong knowledge of the
EYFS framework
and safeguarding procedures
Is an excellent communicator and team player
Is organised, reliable, and able to remain calm under pressure
Has a genuine passion for early childhood education
