We are looking for a motivated, confident and nurturing
Assistant Deputy Manager
to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for an experienced early years practitioner who is ready to step up, support the day-to-day running of the nursery, and ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding and education for all children.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the smooth daily operation of the nursery.
Provide leadership, guidance and role-modelling to staff across all rooms.
Assist with staff deployment and organising daily tasks.
Take responsibility for the nursery in the absence of the Manager and Deputy Manager.
Promote a positive, professional and friendly environment for children, staff and families.
Childcare & Curriculum
Ensure all children receive high-quality care, education and experiences aligned with the EYFS.
Support room leaders with planning, observations, assessments and meeting children's individual needs.
Ensure that safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.
Parent Partnership
Build strong, respectful and supportive relationships with parents and carers.
Assist with parent meetings, settling-in sessions and resolving minor concerns with professionalism.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Support monitoring and maintaining high standards of health and safety, risk assessments, hygiene and room environments.
Assist with action plans and ensuring compliance with Ofsted and nursery policies.
Maintain accurate records including registers, accident forms, medication forms and relevant documentation.
Professional Development
Support the training, induction and supervision of staff.
Actively engage in ongoing CPD, supervisions and leadership training.
Promote reflective practice within the team.
Person Specification
Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and early years practice.
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead by example.
Passionate about providing high-quality care and education.
Experience working in a private day nursery.
Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and DSL training (or willingness to complete).
Experience supporting staff development or leading a room.
