Responsibilities
Assist the Nursing Manager in overseeing daily nursing operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Supervise and support registered nurses (RGNs) and registered mental health nurses (RMNs), fostering a motivated and professional team environment.
Coordinate staff schedules, manage shift allocations, and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet service demands.
Lead staff training and development initiatives to enhance clinical skills, promote best practices, and ensure high-quality patient care.
Oversee medication administration, care planning, and documentation processes to maintain accuracy and safety standards.
Monitor clinical performance metrics, conduct audits, and implement improvements to optimize service delivery.
Manage inventory control for medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels and adherence to safety protocols.
Support recruitment activities including interviewing candidates, onboarding new staff, and conducting performance reviews.
Foster excellent communication with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and trust.
Uphold food safety standards when applicable, especially in settings where nutritional services are integrated into care plans.
Skills
Proven leadership experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting with supervising responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of clinical practices for RGN or RMN roles, including medication management and care procedures.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and build positive relationships with residents and families.
Competence in managing staff schedules, training programs, and performance evaluations.
Familiarity with healthcare management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous for administrative tasks related to inventory or billing processes.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately when required; experience with financial management is a plus.
Knowledge of food preparation, food safety standards, and catering operations if involved in dietary services or hospitality functions.
Experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and implementing efficient resource utilization strategies.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation, compliance audits, and operational procedures.
