Are you a hands-on, emotionally present leader who believes that every child--regardless of ability--deserves to be loved, protected, and cared for as part of a family?
A rare and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an
Assistant Manager
to join a small, long-standing children's home supporting three young people with profound and complex disabilities. These young people are non-verbal, incontinent, and require full personal care. They have lived in the home for over five years and are supported by a stable, experienced, and deeply committed care team.
This role is ideal for someone who leads with heart, who thrives in a warm, nurturing environment, and who wants to make a genuine and lasting difference in the lives of children with high support needs.
About the Role:
This is not a clipboard-and-laptop job -- it's about connection, consistency, and care. As Assistant Manager, you will:
Work directly with the young people, building real, loving relationships
Support and lead a long-standing, compassionate care team
Take responsibility for high-quality daily operations, safeguarding, and care delivery
Assist with regulatory standards and support the Registered Manager/Director with home leadership
Be a consistent, calming presence for both staff and children
You'll be working in a truly settled home, where the focus is on quality of life, dignity, and meaningful engagement--not managing crisis.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working in children's residential care, preferably with young people who have disabilities and high personal care needs
Has completed (or is working towards)
Level 3 or 5
in Health & Social Care / Residential Childcare
Is a natural caregiver -- loving, consistent, and emotionally available
Can lead by example, balancing compassion with professionalism
Wants to grow into leadership in an environment that values warmth, loyalty, and integrity
What You'll Receive:
A deeply fulfilling role where you're part of a stable, caring, family-like team
Ongoing support and mentoring from the Director, who has personally led the home for 14 years
Training and development tailored to your growth
A chance to be part of something truly meaningful -- a home that changes lives through love and dedication
This is more than a job. It's a chance to love, lead, and make a home
