We are seeking a proactive and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our nursery team on a
12-month maternity cover contract
. This leadership role is ideal for someone looking to build on their management skills and contribute meaningfully to a high-quality early years setting.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll help oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, support the team, and ensure that every child receives the best possible start in life.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
Lead and support the staff team, promoting a positive working culture and high professional standards
Help plan and deliver a broad and engaging curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory requirements
Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, supporting open and effective communication
Support administrative duties including staff rotas, budget monitoring, and Ofsted readiness
Take initiative in developing activities that inspire curiosity, creativity and learning in children
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
A Level 3 qualification or abovein Early Years Education or Childcare (essential)
Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a nursery or early years setting
A thorough understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding responsibilities, and statutory requirements
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
A child-focused approach and a genuine passion for early years education
