Our Montessori is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join its team on a full-time basis. This leadership role involves supporting the daily operations of the nursery, leading and mentoring staff, and ensuring high standards of care and education are consistently maintained. The successful candidate will play a key role in staff development, parent engagement, and compliance with EYFS and Ofsted requirements. Main Responsibilities:
Work as part of the leadership team to ensure the nursery operates smoothly
Support and enforce the nursery's policies and procedures
Lead, manage, and motivate the staff team
Delegate responsibilities to ensure effective room management
Contribute to planning and curriculum ideas
Build positive relationships with children and families
Assist in staff performance management and appraisals
Lead meetings in the absence of the manager
Ensure appropriate staff deployment and ratio compliance
Maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment, including outdoor areas
Carry out peer observations and quality audits
Oversee children's health care plans
Mentor and train Room Leaders
Participate in parent events and nursery communications
Monitor daily and weekly checklists for quality and compliance
Use the nursery's app-based system (training provided)
Person Specification:
Minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification (full and relevant)
Previous experience in a leadership role within a childcare setting
Good ICT skills
Strong knowledge of the EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding
Confident in communication, both verbal and written
Able to lead by example and support the team
Motivated, adaptable, and collaborative in approach
