Design Assistant Apprentice - Join ProAmpac in London!

Are you ready to kickstart your career in design with a global leader in packaging innovation? ProAmpac is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our London team as a Design Assistant Apprentice.

About the Role

As a Design Assistant Apprentice, you'll play a key role in supporting our creative and operational teams. You will be working with leading consumer food to go brands in the Uk and around the World. There will be scope to support further expansion in North American Markets.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both design and administrative functions while working toward either of the following Apprenticeships:

Level 3 - Product Design and Development Technician (A Level Equivalent)

or

Level 6 - Creative Digital Design Professional (Degree).

What You'll Be Doing

Concept Development: Create innovative packaging concepts that align with brand identity and product requirements. Testing & Validation: Oversee performance testing (e.g., shelf life, barrier properties, transport durability and hot hold. Structural Design: Develop dielines and prototypes using CAD software or manual techniques (e.g., paper folding). Collaborate with other designers, marketing, and supply chain teams to bring packaging concepts to life Prepare and refine print-ready artwork across various formats and materials Support sustainability initiatives by exploring eco-friendly packaging options Maintain organised filing systems and respond to administrative queries

What We're Looking For

GCSE qualifications and a willingness to enrol in a Level 3 Apprenticeship. If you want to enrol on a higher degree level, you will be required to hold Higher Education Qualification as a mandatory entry requirement, we can discuss this with you. A basic understanding of clerical systems and a passion for design Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a keen eye for detail

Location

London, UK - with occasional exposure to our manufacturing environment in Donegal, Ireland. Our office is based in Wimbledon, a 5 minute walk from the train station.

Pay & Hours

This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday.

This role offers an initial pay rate of 12.21 per hour for the first 12 months, which will then be reviewed in line with skills and experience in the role.
