Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Design Architect to join our growing construction company. This role is integral to bridging the gap between design and construction by managing internal design needs and coordinating closely with external architects, consultants, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring a strong architectural foundation, construction knowledge, and communication skills to support the seamless execution of projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
- Develop architectural concepts, layouts, and technical drawings using AutoCAD/Revit to support in-house projects.
- Liaise with external architectural firms to ensure alignment with design goals, construction feasibility, and company standards.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams to integrate design with construction processes.
- Ensure all designs (in-house and external) adhere to applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Prepare and manage architectural documentation, drawing registers, and records required for permits, construction, and as-builts.
- Assist in selecting suitable materials and systems that meet performance, cost, and design objectives.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, resolve design-related issues, and ensure adherence to design intent.
- Maintain design consistency and quality across all projects by enforcing company standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and other design software; strong understanding of construction documentation and detailing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with internal teams, and external consultants.
- Ability to identify design conflicts, coordinate resolutions, and maintain high design standards.
- Capable of analyzing design issues and proposing practical solutions in line with project timelines and budgets.
- Able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently.
- 5+ years in architectural roles, preferably within a residential construction or design- build environment
- ARB/RIBA Qualified Architect
