About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Design Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of design elements across various projects, acting as a liaison between architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of architectural drawings, excellent communication skills, and the ability to solve complex design-related problems efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

Review Architectural Drawings and Details: + Thoroughly examine and analyse architectural drawings, plans, and specifications
+ Identify potential design conflicts, inconsistencies, or areas requiring clarification
+ Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improvements to the design team
+ Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and project requirements
Coordinate Design Between Work Packages: + Facilitate communication and collaboration between various design disciplines (e.g., architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical)
+ Organize and lead design coordination meetings to address interdisciplinary issues
+ Develop and maintain a comprehensive design coordination schedule
+ Track and resolve design conflicts and discrepancies across different work packages
+ Ensure seamless integration of design elements from different disciplines
On-Site Responsibilities: + Attend site visits regularly for setting out and problem-solving
+ Verify that construction aligns with approved design documents
+ Collaborate with on-site teams to address design-related challenges
+ Conduct field measurements and assessments as needed
+ Document and report on-site observations and issues to the project team
Documentation and Reporting: + Maintain accurate and up-to-date design coordination logs
+ Prepare detailed reports on design issues, resolutions, and project progress
+ Create and distribute meeting minutes and action items from coordination meetings
+ Develop and update design coordination procedures and best practices
Stakeholder Management: + Act as a primary point of contact for design-related queries from various stakeholders
+ Communicate design changes and updates to relevant parties in a timely manner
+ Facilitate resolution of design conflicts between different stakeholders
+ Maintain positive working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors
Quality Control: + Implement and maintain quality control processes for design coordination
+ Conduct regular design reviews to ensure consistency and adherence to project standards
+ Identify and mitigate potential risks related to design coordination
+ Continuously improve design coordination processes and methodologies

Qualifications and Skills

Background in Joinery/Carpentry Site management experience advantageous Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in design coordination or a similar role Proficient in reading and interpreting Proficent in Solidworks or AutoCAD
