Our client, a well-established engineering organisation operating within the energy and industrial services sector, is seeking a Design Engineer to support the delivery of a range of engineering projects and product developments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring all work meets performance, safety, and quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, innovative projects within a collaborative and technically focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Produce and maintain 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings in line with engineering standards and client requirements.
Perform engineering calculations to validate design intent and ensure functional integrity.
Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain accurate documentation.
Assist in developing and revising procedures, specifications, and design basis documents.
Maintain effective revision control and document management within the company's systems.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and readiness checks for testing and validation activities.
Support non-conformance investigations and assist in developing corrective actions.
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver design milestones.
Liaise with internal departments to ensure project timelines and quality standards are achieved.
Communicate clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Collaborate with QHSE teams to ensure all design and engineering activities align with company and industry standards.
Represent the company at technical and project meetings as required.
Prepare and contribute to technical reports, proposals, and documentation.
Identify and raise any design risks or technical concerns in a timely manner.
Support business initiatives aimed at expanding the company's engineering and design capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience
HNC/HND (or higher) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent.
Previous experience within the energy, oilfield, or industrial equipment sectors is advantageous.
A motivated self-starter with excellent organisational and communication skills.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and materials.
Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent).
Competent in performing and documenting engineering calculations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
