Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join our innovative, fast-growing company.

You'll be a member of our engineering team, contributing to the design of new, cutting-edge products. To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using CAD software, with strong attention to detail and a creative flair. It's also important that you have project engineering skills to meet the daily demands of the role.

Qualifications



Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field from a recognised University of College HNC/HND or Degree qualified in mechanical engineering/ONC (or equivalent supported by experience

Requirements and Skills



A minimum of two years post graduate experience within a computer aided design for manufacturing engineering department. Ability to work and meet deadlines on own initiative as well as part of a team. Experience with ISO9000:2000 requirements as they pertain to engineering design systems. Sound knowledge and experience in 2D drafting (AutoCAD), 3D solid modelling (Inventor) packages and ANSYS finite element software packages. Knowledge of design methodology in a regulated environment. Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures. Basic knowledge of material and design requirements for valves designed in accordance with API and ASME would be an advantage. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities



Liaise with internal and external stake holders to ensure that project technical and deliverable requirements are fully understood. Create and release required project documentation to the required schedule. Produce engineering documentation; manufacturing drawings, calculations, specifications and procedures to enable the manufacture of Pacson products. Provide training of and mentoring to less senior engineering personnel on how carry out tasks required to provide engineering support. Carry out review of your colleague's work including designs, drawings, calculations and procedures. Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders. Attend and participate in activities out with the engineering department that are identified by your manager or supervisor as being necessary to enable you to fulfil your responsibilities to Pacson. This can include meetings, training activities, presentations, site visits and audits. In conjunction with your supervisor, monitor your performance to committed goals, to enable effective system review and process change to drive through continuous efficiency improvement. Where required, a reasonable level of overtime hours should be worked to prevent slippage to committed goals. Maintain and develop your professional credentials as a qualified engineer aiming to be registered with the Engineering Council UK as IEng or CEng within two years of your date of employment. Ensure you are aware of the responsibilities both legally and ethically your decisions have on those impacted upon by your work and sign off of other's work.
