We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative

Design Engineer

to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for concept development, design, research & innovation.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, utilise advanced design tools, and apply a broad range of technical skills to solve complex engineering challenges.

Design Engineer Duties:



Develop detailed designs and schematics for mechanical and electrical systems using CAD software such as

SolidWorks

. Develop creative technical solutions from concept stage through to final design. Ensure all proposed solutions meet technical requirements and align with business objectives. Produce accurate 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks. Participate in DFMEA processes and ensure recommended tests are incorporated. Manage engineering change requests and maintain compliance with internal systems. Work with suppliers to validate technical solutions and support procurement decisions. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to create comprehensive system designs that meet project specifications and safety standards. Prepare technical documentation for review and approval. Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting activities during the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications



Proficiency in

SolidWorks

and technical drawing standards. Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes. Experience with DFMEA and VA/VE methodologies. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to innovate. Strong communication skills for supplier and customer engagement. Educated to HNC level or above in Industrial Design/Product Design or an Engineering Degree with experience of using Solidworks and working with engineering drawings including tolerancing and DFM
