Design Engineer - Industrial Machinery

Are you a skilled Design Engineer with experience in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD?
Join a well-established UK engineering manufacturer and contribute to the design of precision machinery and systems across a diverse range of industrial applications.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, from concept through to production, and interact directly with suppliers to ensure efficient delivery and cost management.

The Job:

As part of the design team, you will:

Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Work independently and collaboratively to meet project deadlines Liaise with suppliers to obtain prices, lead times, and component specifications Support design calculations for mechanical, fluid, and pneumatic systems Apply engineering principles to sheet metal development, tolerance analysis, and component sizing

The Person:

Strong background in engineering design with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD proficiency Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organisational skills with attention to deadlines and detail Experience liaising with suppliers and managing design documentation Hands-on manufacturing experience (machining, welding, fabrication) Experience designing food machinery or process equipment Knowledge of: Steam systems and energy calculations Fluid systems, pumps, and pipework Pneumatics Stress calculations Motor and gearbox sizing Sheet metal development and tolerance of machined parts

The Package:

Salary up to 45k DOE

Overtime available as required

22 days holiday (rising to 26 with service) + Bank Holidays
