Job Description
Horizon is a rapidly growing family business within the Agricultural sector, focusing on the future of farming and the impact we have on soil degradation, and how it will affect our food production in the years to come. Our goal here at Horizon is to minimize the impact on the soil and maximise production through innovative design and development.
Due to rapid growth and future design plans, we are looking for a Design Engineer to join our highly skilled team of multi-disciplined engineers. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing robust agricultural implements for our clients across the Globe.
Candidates will be designing across multiple disciplines including, sheet metal, castings, injection moulding, Hydraulic systems and electrical schematics, with the opportunities to specialise as their career progresses.
The work will involve 3D modelling (using SolidWorks), design analysis, drafting, supplier and production liaison, prototype building, testing and issue resolutions. You will also be producing documentation for Production and Aftersales teams.

The Role:
2D and 3D design work and drafting
Prototype testing and validation for manufacturing
Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
The Candidate:
Engineer with a relevant degree (BEng, BSC or equivalent)
Experience in design using Solidworks
Experience of using or designing agricultural machinery
Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
Be willing to get hands-on building prototypes
Able to commute to PE12 0EZ and have a Full Driving Licence
Interest in designing machinery.
