Job Description

Business specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of hydraulic power units and associated equipment within the UK.

Following on from securing large projects a Design engineer is required within the projects division. Responsibilities include:

Undertake all 3D part, assembly & GA drawings for manufacture using Solidworks software package

Create BOM's as part of project build

Generate detailed costing sheets

Order materials from suppliers created within BOM

Management of suppliers

Create/ update in house library of 3D part drawings

Produce fabrication drawings for construction

Design of hydraulic schematic circuits & solutions

Involved in DFMEA & Design Risk Assessment workshops

Create 2D P&ID drawings using Autocad software

Project co-ordination where required

Involved in building tender packages for future project works

Input into weekly project update meetings with clients

Skills/ qualifications must have;

Eligible to work within the UK, no sponsorship will be offered.

Proficiency with Solidworks/ AutoCad software packages

Minimum 5 years design experience in the hydraulic industry

Hand on experience working within an engineering/ design department environment

Ability to produce 3D part drawings of equipment/ parts from information provided

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word & Visio

Meet delivery deadlines

Work well with other team members

Understanding of mechanical fabrication/ pipework techniques

Have strong planning, organisation & communication skills

Have a strong orientation towards quality, safety & continuous improvement

Demonstrate ability to work independently & collaboratively in a fast paced work environment

Strong ability to manage own work load & time

Time served engineer

HNC or higher in mechanical engineering.

Skills/ qualifications nice to have;

Degree in mechanical engineering

Minimum 5 years leading design team in hydraulic sector

Cetop level 2 or above qualification from NFPC

Proficient in Microsoft Project

Ability to lead & manage on-site installation team

Ability to undertake FAT & on-site commissioning of hydraulic equipment

Experienced in managing projects of 100K + in value

Ability to interface with clients to develop project scope of works

Ability to produce & manage detailed project & manufacturing plans

Experience in fault finding of hydraulic systems

Company team of 15+ employees with latest annual turnover of 2.5mil +.

Standard project values vary from 100K to 1.5mil.

Salary - 38-42K per annum

40hr working week - Monday to Friday 8am till 16.30

Company pension offered (After probationary period)

20 days holiday + bank holidays - Rising to 23 days after 2 year period
