We're hiring a

Design Engineer

to support our Engineering team with custom design work and technical engineering support. You'll work closely with our Commercial, Factory, and Product teams to turn ideas into clear, buildable solutions, from bespoke rig designs and gym configurations to engineering updates and production documentation.

This role is ideal for someone technically strong, process-savvy, and comfortable moving between client-focused problem-solving and hands-on engineering support.

Responsibilities:

Design custom gym equipment solutions and configurations to meet client briefs and site requirements. Support the Commercial team with technical drawings, layout plans, and sales support documents. Produce and maintain 3D CAD models, technical drawings, BOMs, and supporting documentation. Contribute to the back end of product development - preparing handover packs, installation guides, and drawing releases. Collaborate with factory teams and suppliers to resolve technical questions and support DFM. Assist with engineering change requests, product improvements, and version control. Support product testing, compliance checks, and ISO documentation processes. Contribute to drawing library management and the upkeep of our product database. Provide general engineering support across the department as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

3+ years professional experience in a design engineering role Proficient in 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred), with strong skills in assemblies, layouts, weldments, and parts drawings Experience producing client-facing or sales-support drawings and custom layouts Comfortable interpreting technical briefs and adapting existing designs to meet client needs Knowledge of manufacturing processes - especially steel fabrication, welding, and powder coating Methodical and detail-orientated, able to ensure drawing and BOM accuracy Excellent communication skills, adapting approach when liaising with sales team, factory staff, and suppliers Organised and responsive, with the ability to manage multiple custom requests at once Passionate about fitness, strength training, and quality

Desirable Skills/Experience:

Experience designing strength or fitness equipment, custom fabrications, or commercial fit-outs Background in Mechanical Engineering, Product-Design Engineering, or similar Familiarity with architectural layout tools or ability to read architectural drawings Experience supporting installation teams Experience working closely with a factory production or operations team
