Job Summary



As a Senior Design Engineer, you will lead the product design process from concept to production, ensuring meticulous documentation, process optimisation, and innovation. This role involves creating and managing CAD models, maintaining project logs, developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and collaborating closely with the Fabrication Manager to prototype and test designs. You will also update the Orderwise system with assembly instructions and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of growth and excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities



Product Design:

Lead the end-to-end product design process, working with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions. Create and manage 3D parametric models for precise visualisation, analysis, and testing of designs. Conduct engineering analyses to validate designs against performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with the Fabrication Manager to ensure successful prototyping and testing of product concepts. Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques to drive continuous innovation. Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Documentation

Maintain detailed project logs, tracking design changes, milestones, and progress. Use the ClickUp platform to manage tasks and ensure team alignment on project activities. Develop and update SOPs for manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure compliance and quality
Orderwise System

Regularly update the Orderwise system with accurate assembly instructions and product documentation. Ensure assembly instructions are clear, accessible, and up to date for production teams.
Design and Optimisation

Continuously evaluate and refine product designs for cost-efficiency, manufacturability, and performance. Implement design improvements based on feedback from manufacturing and field testing. Identify and execute opportunities to streamline engineering and product development processes, enhancing productivity and reducing inefficiencies.
Qualifications

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) with experience in creating 3D parametric models. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills. Familiarity with Click Up and other project management tools. o Experience in creating SOPs and workshop manuals. Knowledge of Orderwise or similar assembly management systems is advantageous.

Working Hours:



Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:00 pm (37.5 hours per week, with a 30-minute unpaid break)

Requirements:



GCSE or equivalent qualification (preferred) English language skills (required)
