The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a

District Heating Design Engineer

to join the design team of a reputable contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative buried network designs, collaborating with civil, mechanical, and project delivery teams to produce high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design buried district heating networks from concept through to detailed design. Produce and review technical drawings using CAD software. Collaborate with civil and mechanical engineers to integrate network layouts into wider construction plans. Prepare design documentation, drawings, and specifications in line with industry standards and client requirements. Provide technical support during project delivery and installation phases. Ensure designs comply with all relevant regulations, health & safety standards, and best practices.

About You

Minimum

2 years' experience

in

district heating or buried utilities network design

. Strong

understanding of CAD design tools

(e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar). Solid grasp of

civil works

, including trenching, reinstatement, and utilities coordination. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering).
