Job Description

Our client are industry leaders in the production and installation of Magnetic Field Shielding, Faraday Cages and Anechoic Test Chambers and they have 2 new opportunities for experienced Design Engineers to join their team.

Seeking Designers with an engineering background in 3D design, particularly with SolidWorks (preferred) or other similar design packages.

Due to an upcoming new project our client is interested in those who have experience designing and understanding the mechanical basis of doors or who may have designed steel fabricated doors or similar.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for the production of technical designs and process activity of the business, under the instruction of the Head of Design. To "own" each customer order from the point it is accepted to the point that it is delivered. To strive for 100% customer "On time in full and to specification" product and service satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Aid in the design process for each contract and ensure each design is within the legal framework defined by each contract taking account of the geographical, political, legal, and cultural differences of each country.

Assist the Commercial and Projects team, provide support in proposal production and produce sales drawings and other information or renders as required, sign off all key documentation to ensure each contract is in line with customer requirements and specifications

Create detailed design and manufacturing drawings for components, assemblies and large structures

When appropriate liaise directly with the customer concerning design parameters to ensure an accurate design specification. This may require site visits

In conjunction with the Head of Design, Commercial and Project management team, ensure each contract meets customers' requirements and specification.

Participate in internal team and other departmental meetings to ensure that design work is communicated and passed to manufacturing correctly and accurately.

Assist in the methodology for each project and liaise where appropriate with the sub-contractors to ensure the correct design and implementation of each project is agreed and understood by all parties.

QA check the engineering output against the design drawings before shipment.

Create 3D models in Solidworks of all standard component parts and assemblies and associated drawings.

Maintain and support a drawing register and be able to transfer information from detailed design drawings into a bill of materials.

Assist in the research and development strategy for the company and partake in hands on product development as may be requested.

Provide support for the Head of Design and Projects team, ensuring that they have adequate design support for each project.

Liaise with Purchasing to ensure the technical specifications are fully compliant and agreed for each contract.

Assist Projects on site visits to ensure projects are built to design, and identify and potential unforeseen required changes to design.

Be responsible for and comply with the ISO9001 2015 standards at all times.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 35,000.00-45,000.00 per year
