Job Description

Summary of your Role:

To oversee the technical design and development of all products and components to a high standard. Produce technical drawings, documentation and accurately record data to ensure products can be produced repeatedly and consistently following the development process.

Key Responsibilities:

1. The technical design and development of new upholstered furniture for projects.

2. Interpret technical drawings and sketches provided by customers and translate these into manufacturing drawings for client sign off.

3. Advise clients on design detailing, fabrics, frame construction etc., as required.

4. Produce detailed frame drawings for internal (with cutting lists) and sub-contracted frame production.

5. Produce CNC programmes to cut sheet material for use in furniture frames.

6. Coordinate the production of BOMs, digital foam patterns, fabric cutting patterns and detailed specification documents.

7. Ensure all product and component information is recorded consistently, using company templates and CRM.

8. Develop component specifications and negotiate best prices with suppliers.

9. Purchase components for use during the development process.

10. Work with the development team to ensure all products are developed to meet the durability, quality and budget requirements of customers and the company.

11. Facilitate the smooth transfer of product information from Development to Main Production.

12. Ensure the timely production of samples for client review.

13. Prepare product specific assembly and usage guides, along with standard care & maintenance guides.

14. When relevant, hold client meetings to discuss progress on prototyping and obtain feedback on customer satisfaction and areas for improvement.

15. Visit trade shows to discover new design trends, materials and production methods.

16. To perform the role in line with the values of Foxwood Furniture Co.

Key Skills:

Must proficient in the use of Solidworks design software and Microsoft 365 suite of applications.

Experience:

Have previously performed a design role in a similar company / industry for at least 2 years (preferred but not essential).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 24,420.00-30,000.00 per year
