The Department: Core Industries Design Engineering



The Core business unit is responsible for the growth and development of key markets including Rail, Off-Highway, Enclosures, Enterprise Hardware, Industrial Equipment, Aerospace, Healthcare, and many more. Many of the customers and markets we serve are complex, challenging and global in nature. One of our key value propositions is being able to manage the complexity of designing with the customer in one region, whilst manufacturing and shipping globally.

The Role



We're looking for a creative and driven individual to join us at Touch Point.

In this exciting role, you'll be at the forefront of conceptualising, designing, and developing innovative new products that meet the needs of both Southco and our customers. You'll take ownership of the technical aspects of your assigned projects, collaborating closely with our Sales team to turn customer challenges into smart, practical solutions.

Working together with our New Product Development (NPD) teams, you'll ensure each product meets cost targets and is launched successfully, hitting all agreed performance criteria.

Requirements



Holds an Engineering Degree or Higher National Qualification (with at least 1 year of professional experience) Has a proven track record in designing small mechanisms Experienced with 3D/2D CAD systems (preferably NX) Is a tenacious and creative problem-solver who thrives on challenges Can inspire and influence others to achieve outstanding results Brings a broad understanding of our customers and the markets we serve
