We are looking for an experienced

Design Manager

to lead and oversee the design processes for Birmingham Airport's Capital Investment Programme. Reporting to the Head of Development, you'll work across departments and with key stakeholders to ensure our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory and regulatory obligations. This is a pivotal role that supports the airport's long-term development and transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement design development processes in line with the RIBA Plan of Work Establish and maintain technical standards in collaboration with stakeholders and SMEs Ensure statutory duties for design compliance and safety are met across all projects Maintain robust systems for tracking design outputs, reviews, and approvals Support Programme and Project Managers in aligning design outcomes with regulations and sustainability goals Provide design-related oversight, assurance, and governance across the capital delivery programme

Experience Required:

Proven experience with design development across RIBA stages and capital projects Strong working knowledge of PAS8671:2022 and Health & Safety in design Experience in programme and project governance, risk management, and change control Skilled in managing technical standards, compliance tracking, and design documentation High proficiency in Microsoft Office and other design process tools Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills

Pay: 40,000.00-55,000.00 per year
