Undertake the role of Contractor's Engineering Manager (Design) and / or Contractors Responsible Engineer - Track Design.
To lead Design Project to achieve a successful outcome in terms of quality, programme and cost. To lead across disciplines to present a coherent team to the client.
Person Specification

Relevant experience in successful design delivery.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Detailed knowledge of safety regulations.
Detailed knowledge of Design Standards
Detailed understanding of design integration
A good awareness of construction activities and the impact from design.
Demonstrate ability to innovate and identify efficiencies
Key Responsibilities

Manage Multi-Disciplinary Projects using resources from internal/ external teams to meet the project requirements
Undertake the role of CEM where required.
Interface with other parts in the business to secure resources to meet project requirements.
Support the business development activities of the Infrastructure division.
Uphold and support established and agreed ways of working with customers (internal or external) to ensure ongoing feedback on team's performance. Use the feedback to identify outstanding performance and any improvements to performance where required.
Ensure competency management records are maintained for all employees and subcontract staff.
Ensure design and project diaries are maintained with events recorded appropriately.
Ensure performance management of subcontractors and consultants is undertaken.
Ensure reviews are undertaken of suppliers to ascertain they have technical approval and competent staff for services supplied.
Ensure all contract deliverables meet the clients requirements, industry standards and best practice.
Ensure that all resources delivering design activities comply with relevant specifications and standards.
Responsible for ensuring that the supply of staff and supporting resources to the project teams deliver high quality technical services and solutions, improving technical excellence within the Infrastructure Division.
Interface with the Head of Design and Design Managers to develop integrated services to clients.
Manage processes to optimise operational delivery and also to provide consultative advice on design issues where applicable.
Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
