Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a design technology technician looking for a new role? Do you have a background in construction, engineering or joinery and are looking for a new role in education?

Tradewind are currently recruiting for a confident dynamic DT technician for a large academy in south Oldham.

The role is required immediately on a full time ongoing temporary basis and may become permanent.

The Role

Design Technology Technician

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.15pm

Duties include :-

Maintaining equipment.

Constructing and modifying technology equipment

Setting up materials for practical work including using circular saws, drills , sanders and heavy machinery to prepare wood, metals, plastics and other materials for student use

Using CAD/CAM equipment for 3D printing

Taking an active part in demonstrations and practical technology lessons

Ordering resources and keeping budgets.

Helping in practical lessons

Giving technical help to students.

Always meeting current health and safety standards.

Experience as a Technology technician, Technology teacher or further education construction or engineering lecturer is preferred.

11-16 academy in south Oldham.

To join us and be successful in this secondary technology technician role, you will need to:

  • a minimum of 6 weeks\' experience of working in a school or college with children aged 11- 18 either as a technician or teacher or lecturer
  • Good references to support this experience
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work full time in the UK
