with strong deskside support experience to join our team at our Westhill site. The ideal candidate will provide first and second-line technical support to end-users, ensuring seamless operation of IT systems, applications, and hardware.
This role requires candidates of
Scottish origin
or those currently residing in
Aberdeen
or
Dundee
(preferred), as proximity to the site is essential. Engineers from Glasgow will not be considered due to distance constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver first and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows/macOS/Linux operating systems and standard software applications.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access via
Active Directory
and
Office 365
.
Respond to support tickets and ensure timely resolution within SLA guidelines.
Escalate unresolved or complex issues to higher-level technical teams as needed.
Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment and liaise with vendors for hardware servicing.
Provide remote technical support to users at other locations when required.
Support IT projects, upgrades, rollouts, and deployments as part of the larger infrastructure team.
Create and update documentation, including standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.
Qualifications & Experience
1-3 years of hands-on experience in a
Desktop Support
,
IT Helpdesk
, or
Technical Support
role.
Strong working knowledge of:
Windows 10/11 OS
Microsoft Office 365 Suite
Basic networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Antivirus and backup solutions
Remote support tools (e.g., RDP, TeamViewer, AnyDesk)
Experience with
ITSM tools
like
ServiceNow
,
Remedy
, or
JIRA
is preferred.
Familiarity with enterprise-level hardware and peripherals (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.).
