As a Despatch Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all despatch operations during your shift. You'll lead and motivate a dedicated team, ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organisational skills, problem-solving ability, and the drive to deliver results in a fast-paced food production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate all despatch activities during your shift. Oversee the daily despatch plan to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment. Lead, train, and support the despatch team to achieve performance targets. Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene regulations. Monitor and manage stock control, picking, packing, and loading. Conduct regular quality checks and ensure correct product handling. Identify opportunities for process improvement to maximise efficiency. Maintain accurate shift records and reporting. Collaborate with warehousing, production, and transport teams for smooth supply chain operations. Use WMS/NAV systems to maintain 100% inventory accuracy.

What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in a despatch, logistics, or supply chain role (food industry preferred). Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating teams. Knowledge of HACCP, BRC standards, and food safety compliance. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and meet deadlines. Strong communication and IT skills (experience with WMS/NAV is desirable). Forklift license and experience (an advantage).
