Spark2Life is looking for a passionate Detached Casework Mentor to join our dedicated team in Lewisham. As a Detached Casework Mentor, you'll work directly with young people aged 11-24 who are at risk of, or already involved in, anti-social behaviour, offending or gang-related activity.
This is a frontline role where you'll meet young people in their environment - estates, streets, parks and community spaces - to build trust, defuse conflict, and provide positive pathways into education, training and employment.
The Role of Detached Casework Mentor:
Work with young people (11-24) at risk of crime, gangs and exploitation.
Provide 1:1 mentoring in community settings such as estates, parks and youth hotspots.
Deliver conflict resolution and mediate tensions on the streets.
Support access to education, training and employment opportunities.
Maintain accurate records on case management systems.
Collaborate with agencies and partners to provide joined-up support.
We're looking for a Detached Casework Mentor who:
Has strong communication and people skills.
Can engage and motivate young people in challenging environments.
Understands safeguarding, risk and child protection.
Can act as a positive role model and inspire change.
Has flexibility to work across different community settings.
Package:
Hours: 37.5 per week (full-time).
Contract: 1 year fixed-term.
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays.
