The Role



Due to our continued success here at Fortem, we are delighted to be recruiting for a proactive Developer to join our IT team. You will be required to work from our head office in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Company



Fortem Solutions are a nationwide business specialising in the Social Housing sector. We provide Repairs & Maintenance, Retrofit, Capital Works and Decarbonisation workstreams within Local Authorities and Housing Associations.

Duties & Responsibilities



As part of the internal development team, this role will have an App Development focus but with opportunities to get involved in a range of types of development to meet business needs and differentiate Fortem from our competitors through innovation.

What You Will Need



Essential:


Experience with .NET Framework/Core

Experience with C# 8.0+

Experience using Azure cloud computing platform and services including Web App and Logic Apps

Experience using source control (Visual Studio Online/Azure DevOps/GitHub)

Experience of working in a technical support environment

Knowledge of Entity Framework or any other ORM

Proficient in LINQ query language

Knowledge of ASP.NET/.NET MVC/.NET Core/Xamarin

Experience writing Unit Tests (BDD, TDD)

Good knowledge of SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers

Ideally 3-5 years experience within a similar role




Desirable:


Experience working in a Scrum Team/Agile development process

Experience of preparing technical documentation/reports

Knowledge of more than one of the following - React, Bootstrap, WinForms, WPF, Java, Xamarin Forms, Databases, REST

Understanding of CSS, JavaScript, HTML, Razor

Good understanding of enterprise software principles like MVVM/SOLID/IOC

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
