The role:


The Developer supports Liverpool City Council's digital infrastructure by designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining scalable web-based solutions. Operating within the Customer and Web Technology service area, the role involves full lifecycle development--from requirements gathering to deployment--across a range of platforms and technologies including .NET, Umbraco, C#, and SharePoint/M365. The developer collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver secure, user-focused systems that align with organisational goals and technical standards.


Key responsibilities:

End-to-End Web Development

: design, build, test, and integrate web systems and services using technologies such as .NET, Umbraco, C#, HTML5, and SQL Server

Systems Architecture & Integration

: develop scalable and resilient solutions, modifying existing designs and integrating new components into broader system architectures

Security & Compliance

: apply and execute security policies across web platforms to ensure data integrity and compliance with council standards

Quality Assurance

: provide design assurance and documentation to support successful handover into operations and long-term support

Technology Monitoring

: stay current with emerging web technologies and assess their relevance for council services and digital strategy
