Job Title: Digital Communications Manager

Salary: \xc2\xa333,622 - \xc2\xa340,473 (Band D) per annum

Working Hours: 35 hours per week - we are happy to talk part-time and flexible working

Contract: Permanent

Location: Balloch, with hybrid working model in place

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and innovative Digital Communications Manager to join our Communications team.

You will lead on planning, developing and delivering a strategic approach to digital communications for Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, developing an audience led digital content strategy and overseeing the delivery of impactful and creative communications outputs that support the priorities of the National Park Authority.

This is an exciting time to join us as we work towards publishing our National Park Partnership Plan, which will set out a bold vision for the future of the park, and how we will deliver positive outcomes for people, place and planet over the next five years.

An experienced professional and excellent communicator with strong problem-solving skills, you will have a proven track-record of developing and delivering digital communications campaigns to change behavior or answer user needs.

You will be a strong leader with a passion for instilling best practice in digital communications with the communications team and wider organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Media and Campaigns Manager to develop and deliver integrated campaigns and \'always on\' communications activity that supports National Park priorities and meets user needs.
  • Lead the development of a digital content strategy, overseeing the creation delivery of content outputs that are high quality, consistent in brand and tone of voice and adhere to best practice guidelines on accessibility and usability.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organisation and external partners and stakeholders to mine for \'good stories\' and content opportunities that support the team and organisation\'s wider strategic objectives.
  • Lead the development of a new website for the National Park.
  • Co-developing internal communications comms outputs, reviewing existing tools to ensure that our staff and our Board Members are kept up to date with the broad spectrum of work that the National Park is involved in.
  • Review the criteria and mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of digital communications activity, ensuring goals and metrics are set for each owned channel and individual campaigns.
  • In tandem with the Media and Campaigns manager and wider team, contribute to the development and delivery of the National Park Partnership Plan and other strategic plans, supporting as required with the engagement of audiences.
  • Instil best practice in digital across the Engagement and Innovation service and wider organisation. They will be plugged into industry trends to bring an innovative approach to their work and into raising overall digital skills.
  • Manage budgets for digital projects and content creation and when required, lead on targeted digital and social media campaigns, both organic and paid-for.
  • Line management responsibility for a Communications Support Officer and Designer and guiding the work of wider team members on key projects/campaigns.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as required.
Who we are looking for:

Your skills, abilities and experience should include:
  • Experience of planning and delivering strategic digital communications campaigns, ensuring integration and alignment with offline communications and engagement work.
  • Experience of applying user insight to develop communications strategies, and evaluating effectiveness using the appropriate tools.
  • Experience of motivating and leading team members in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrable experience successfully managing a variety of projects including those involving multiple digital suppliers/specialists.
  • Articulate with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Proactive self-starter with initiative to continually improve the work the team and National Park.
  • Degree in communications or a related discipline; or equivalent level of management experience within a digital communications role.
Ideally, but not essential, you\'ll also have:
  • Experience of running behaviour change campaigns
  • Agile project management skills, particularly in the delivery of digital first projects.
  • Experience of utilising Customer Relationship Management tools to track engagement
  • Understanding of issues relating to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and its audiences
