Job summary
Join us at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as a Digital Editor. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact by delivering high-quality, impartial, easy-to-understand guidance in multiple content formats to help customers make the most of their money and pensions. There is a particular emphasis on reaching those most in need and vulnerable.
You will maintain existing MoneyHelper consumer-facing information and guidance to ensure we deliver accurate content at all times for our customers. You'll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to helping people across the UK improve their financial wellbeing.
Job description
Role Overview
The Digital Editor will report directly to the Lead Editor. You will:
Develop, maintain, and edit consumer-facing information and guidance for digital platforms, including our MoneyHelper website and blog.
Work as part of a matrix team to develop customer journeys for our target audiences.
Apply MoneyHelper design principles, search engine optimisation (SEO), and Artificial Intelligence Optimisation (AIO) to ensure our information and guidance is easily accessible, highly visible and drives positive action. You'll use analytics to continuously improve the customer experience and effectiveness of MoneyHelper guidance.

Skills and Experience Required
To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
Excellent style of writing using plain language and the MoneyHelper tone of voice, strong editorial judgment and the ability to convey a complex message in a concise way.
Strong attention to detail, always ensuring accuracy and proven ability to optimise own and others' copy.
Expertise in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (eg liaising with product owners, subject matter experts), managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
An empathetic and understanding approach - so you are able to develop content for our target audience in the 'struggling and squeezed' segment.
Experience in consumer finance is an advantage - with an understanding of debt, credit, cost-of-living, budgeting and saving.
Digital publishing skills - you'll have worked in a CMS; experience of AEM and Adobe Analytics is ideal although not essential.

Flexible Working
At MaPS, we take pride in our flexible approach to work. As standard, we work on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week. Hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and our headquarters in Bedford will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business needs, but personal and other relevant circumstances will also be considered. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

Recruitment Process:
Initial Review: Our recruiter will review your CV. If it looks like a good fit, they'll reach out to arrange a call.

Career Development
In MaPS, we take career development seriously. We actively encourage and support applications from our existing MaPS colleagues. However, we do follow the Civil Service Commissioner recruitment principles, which means that you will be required to participate in a full, open, and fair process.
Reserve List
If you are successful at interview, we operate a reserve list where your details will be held for up to 6 months. Should a vacancy come available in that time with the same essential criteria, reserve list candidates will be offered that position with no further assessment required.
