PROPOSED SALARY RANGE:40,000 - 50,000 + London Weighting (5,319) + 20% Ad Sales Bonus, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Digital Editor within the award-winning BBC StoryWorks EMEA team, you'll craft compelling branded content that blends BBC's editorial excellence with client storytelling goals. In this pivotal role, you'll ideate, write and edit digital stories that resonate with global audiences, collaborating across creative, strategy and compliance teams to deliver content that informs, inspires and engages.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Content Strategy & Development: Collaborate across multiple teams to conceptualise branded content strategies using audience insights, ensuring alignment with BBC editorial guidelines and industry trends.
  • Digital Content Creation: Write, commission and edit digital, written-word content spanning various themes and industries including travel, finance, B2B, luxury, sustainability and more. Support social team's output in delivering impactful social strategies and stories.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management: Oversee multiple content projects from inception to delivery, acting as a liaison between internal teams, clients and freelancers to ensure timely, on-budget execution.
  • Editorial & Production Excellence: Source, conduct and manage interviews; maintain high editorial standards; and publish content using CMS tools across BBC platforms including digital, social and linear.
  • Performance & Optimization: Monitor and analyse content performance metrics, providing actionable insights to enhance engagement and effectiveness across platforms.
  • Sector Knowledge & Collaboration: Apply broad understanding of sectors like travel, finance, tech and sustainability while working closely with social, design and product teams to optimize storytelling.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • Editorial & Copywriting Experience: Background as an Editor, Copywriter, or similar role within agencies, publishers or branded content studios.
  • Multimedia Content Creation: Skilled in producing and managing high-quality content across platforms, with strong editorial judgment and compliance awareness.
  • Audience & Analytics Focus: Experienced in using audience insights and analytics to guide content strategy and boost engagement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with design, production, sales and other teams to deliver cohesive content solutions.
  • Creative & Deadline-Driven: Resourceful problem-solver with a proactive mindset and ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
  • Project Management Skills: Strong organizational skills, with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects from concept to completion.
  • Platform Expertise: Familiarity with digital, social media, and broadcast platforms and their specific content requirements.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
