Blynk Limited is a growing digital integration and solutions agency, based in Leeds, UK that specialises in cutting-edge digital installations within retail and travel retail environments. We are expanding our team and looking for an experienced Digital Signage Installer (fitter) to join us as we deliver innovative digital signage solutions, LED displays, commercial signage displays, and audio systems across the UK.
Job Summary
As a Digital Signage Installer, your primary responsibility is installing digital signage systems consisting of large formal LED displays, LCD Displays, and Audio systems with remote control systems.
You will work closely with Project Management / Senior Engineers and contribute to continuous service improvements. As an Installer, you will work closely with clients and other contractors to deliver high-quality service while adhering to safety standards and maintaining best practices.
While prior digital signage or AV experience is preferred, Blynk will offer specific training on the products, software, and systems. We are ideally looking for a technician with the right approach and mentality, along with some relevant installation/technical support experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Mounting and Setup
: Install and configure digital signage solutions, LED and Commercial LCD displays, and in-store audio systems for various retailers and airport locations across the UK, ensuring precise setup and high-quality performance.
Commissioning and reporting:
Assist with commissioning and testing of newly installed systems, verifying cabling, remote connections, checking power/signal flow, and troubleshooting issues.
Wiring and Cabling
: Plan and run appropriate cabling (power, video, and data cables) for the installation, ensuring neatness and functionality.
Rack Build and Terminations:
Responsible for the population and completion of various equipment racks, dressing, terminating, labelling, and testing cabling. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and drawings, and reported any discrepancies.
Structural Support
: Ensure the proper mounting structure and supports are used for secure and safe installation, especially for large LED panels.
Diagnostic & Troubleshooting
: Identify and resolve issues related to hardware, software, or network problems affecting the digital signage systems and resolve where possible with the senior technical team.
Repair & Maintenance
: Perform regular maintenance on displays, including cleaning, updates, and repairs as necessary (e.g., replacing faulty components such as power supplies or LEDs).
Health & Safety
: Adhere to health and safety regulations, especially when dealing with electrical wiring and working at heights.
Regulatory Compliance
: Ensure the installation complies with local electrical and building codes.
Emerging Technology Integration
: Show keen interest in developing retail technologies, digital signage and LED display technologies to offer clients improvements.
Some office-based duties:
Manage maintenance reporting, accurate tracking of hardware and stock inventory, assist with deliveries, project de-prep and clean-up, and perform asset tagging and other ad hoc duties when necessary. Travel to our Bradford warehouse may be required.
Other duties:
As required or assigned by Senior engineers and company management.

Be able to communicate courteously but knowledgeably with clients and contractors
Report directly to the Project Managers and Senior Engineers.
Skills and Experience Required:
Experience on the tools - Hands-on experience mounting signage and display brackets, Installing Ceiling and Surface mount speakers (Essential)
Experience terminating power and data cable(Essential
Basic IT skills (Windows and macOS)
Technical knowledge with the ability to problem-solve digital signage systems
Experience in display or signage installations
Possess a high level of attention to detail and quality control
Be able to work on your own initiative and within a team
Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the digital signage or in a similar role.
Willing to travel and spend time away is essential due to night work in UK airports
Hold a full clean driving licence, with a maximum of 6 penalty points for insurance cover purposes.
