What you'll achieve:



The Director of Architecture is a strategic technology leader responsible for defining, driving, and evolving Outseer's software architecture to meet current and future business needs. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership to ensure our products are scalable, secure, performant, and aligned with the company's product and growth strategies. You will lead architectural governance, guide technical decision-making, and partner closely with product, engineering, and security teams to deliver world-class fraud prevention solutions. A strong passion for and experience with agentic AI and large language model (LLM) development is essential to drive innovation and shape the future of our fraud prevention platform.


Essential Duties




Team Mentorship and Development:

Inspire, and mentor a small team of skilled, tenured Architects, encouraging a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and career development within the software engineering team. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members, recognizing and rewarding exceptional contributions. Act as a role model for engineering excellence, encouraging engineers to stretch themselves beyond their comfort zones and continuously raise the technical bar.

Architecture Leadership:

Define and maintain the enterprise and product architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business goals. Ensure architectural designs are consistent, scalable, secure, and compliant with regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR). Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies relevant to fraud prevention, data analytics, AI/ML, and cloud-native development. Be hands-on in developing prototypes and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to validate new innovations and guide adoption across teams.

Technical Governance:

Establish and enforce architecture principles, standards, and best practices across the organization. Review and approve technical designs for major initiatives, ensuring alignment with architectural standards. Act as the final decision-maker on complex technical trade-offs.

Collaboration & Influence:

Partner with product management to translate business needs into technical capabilities. Work with engineering leaders to ensure delivery teams can implement architectural guidance efficiently. Mentor and coach senior engineers and architects to build organizational technical depth. Demonstrate strong documentation skills to clearly capture architectural decisions, PoCs, and innovations. Possess excellent client-facing communication skills to present prototypes, lead product demos, and engage effectively with external stakeholders.

Innovation & Scalability:

Drive the modernization of platforms toward microservices, API-first design, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native deployments. Ensure the architecture supports high availability, low latency, and rapid scalability to handle enterprise B2B transaction volumes. Champion security-by-design and privacy-by-design principles in all solutions.

Agile / SAFe Practices

: Lead and champion agile / SAFe development methodologies, promoting efficiency, productivity, and quality in software development processes. Derive and track key engineering KPIs to measure the success of the team and improve efficiency.

Culture Building

: Lead a positive, inclusive, and equitable culture within the organization, ensuring everyone feels valued and their contributions matter.



Desired Requirements



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 12+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in an architecture leadership role. Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale, distributed, cloud-based enterprise software solutions. Deep understanding of architectural patterns (microservices, domain-driven design, event-driven, layered architecture). Proven passion for and hands-on experience with agentic AI and LLM development, with the ability to apply these technologies to complex business challenges. Strong background in security, identity management, and fraud prevention or financial services systems. Expertise with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms. Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.



Preferred Experience




Experience in B2B SaaS product companies serving financial services, e-commerce, or payment processing clients. Familiarity with AI/ML and data analytics architectures for fraud detection. Knowledge of compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
