JOB PURPOSE

The Customer Commerce Director will focus on implementing and maintaining a number of work streams to support the Customer Commerce IT landscape, including Commerce Tools, Adyen payments and adherence to legislation globally. They will ensure the availability, performance and integrity of Customer Commerce systems by proactively planning for changes and capacity as well as reactively addressing system incidents and problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner into VP Digital to ensure the IT strategy and plans are fully integrated and enable the business digital strategy.
  • Partner with Director of Product (or equivalent) to ensure alignment of strategies and agree priorities
  • Partner with third party delivery partners, ensuring they delivery to the required Burberry standards.
  • Engagement and influence with internal VP / CXO level to drive awareness of strategies and awareness of capabilities delivered.
  • Externally influence key industry technology partners, sponsoring changes in products to Burberry benefit, via Customer Advisory Boards or similar.
  • Learn about market trends and bring that knowledge in house to be shared with broader team, with a view of leveraging new trends within the business to build new or better capabilities.
  • Overall programme management and delivery of Burberry\'s customer management capabilities, working in harmony with other delivery directors within Digital and the rest of the business (including Supply Chain, Tax, Legal and Fulfilment) to service our customer needs.
  • Lead delivery capability stream teams, including engineering, BA and PM resources within a Matrix organisational model.
  • Financial management across programme and BAU.
  • Manage Tier 1 IT partner (~40 people, c. \xc2\xa33m annual investment).
  • Pioneer new technology strategies in order to make Burberry a leader in the digital market.
PERSONAL PROFILE
  • 10+ years\' experience in delivery of digital capabilities in an agile delivery model.
  • eCommerce platforms and transformation programme experience is essential.
  • Order Management Systems (OMS) and Commerce Tools experience is essential.
  • Experience of managing third parties is essential.
  • Strong domain specialisation in one or more of the following: Digital backend or frontend capabilities, Digital technologies, Agile Delivery, ecommerce specific technologies such as web development languages, Content management solutions or commerce solutions.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial leadership approach to discover, assess and deliver opportunities to increase commercial business performance through enhancements of existing technology capabilities or introduction of new capabilities.
  • Proven engagement experience with delivery of large scale digital transformation initiatives.
  • Recognised industry influence with key partners and technology providers as a thought leader in sector.
  • Experience of building and developing high performing teams in a demanding and fast paced environment.
  • Strong senior leadership stakeholder management.
  • Financial management of \xc2\xa35m+ budgets.
