Join us as a Director, Pod Lead, Financial Institutions & Business Services

  • In this prominent role within our Financial Institutions & Business Services team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work with stakeholders to build customer relationships and deliver best-in-market customer experiences
  • As a key member of the pod leadership team, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be providing effective risk and portfolio management of a complex portfolio and deliver credit stewardship of debt solutions
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll be able to really make this role your own, allowing excellent exposure for you and your work
  • Although most of your time will be spent working from home or meeting clients, you\xe2\x80\x99ll also spend up to two days each week, or as required, working from our London, 250 Bishopsgate hub to collaborate and connect with your colleagues
What you\'ll do

We\xe2\x80\x99ll look to you to deliver successful customer outcomes by providing pod leadership and effective risk and portfolio management for a complex set of customers. You\xe2\x80\x99ll assume primary responsibility for all non-origination activities and actively manage the overall sector portfolio considering risks, capital allocation and other commercial factors.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll ensure strong leadership and management of the pod, creating an inclusive culture which actively promotes diversity and where team members are developed to achieve their highest potential.

Your other responsibilities will include:
  • Performing best-in-class credit stewardship, transaction management and the end-to-end credit process to deliver excellent customer service
  • Managing, coaching and developing your own team, setting stretching objectives, managing performance and coaching them in managing their portfolios
  • Implementing and reinforcing a culture of risk awareness and management within the team, identifying and proactively managing risks including problem loads and data quality
  • Driving the delivery of financial metrics while minimising incidences of bad debts
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a seamless customer experience
The skills you\'ll need

To excel in this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll need a Chartered Banker diploma in Lending Skills together with broad experience of the banking industry, including the regulatory and commercial environment. You\xe2\x80\x99ll have good credit skills suitable for the stewardship of appropriate specialist portfolio management customer exposures, along with extensive customer and sector specialism knowledge.

We\xe2\x80\x99ll also want to see:
  • Excellent people leadership skills and the ability to deliver results through others
  • Experience of relevant legal policies, regulatory and statutory obligations and risk management
  • A deep understanding and significant experience in the application of risk management disciplines
  • Experience of analysing complex financial information and identifying appropriate solutions
  • A strong internal and external stakeholder network with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
