Centre Manager Role:Experience/Qualifications:



Must possess dog training qualifications and practical experience in a professional setting (experience with family pets does not qualify). Proven experience in managing a small team is essential. Must be able to be at the centre by 7:30 am daily, although working hours can be flexible for the right candidate.

Duties

:

Day-to-day management of the centre, including key holder responsibilities, allowing the director to focus on business development. Training new staff. Interacting with customers during check-ins and check-outs, processing small retail orders, and providing feedback on their dogs' day. Maintaining cleanliness throughout the day and performing a thorough clean at the end of each day. Managing and training a group of dogs, sometimes solo. Completing allocated tasks and following procedures to maintain our high standards. Dog training, management, and interactive play. Basic reporting and customer communication. Supervising 1-5 other staff members. Ensuring dog training and management techniques are consistently applied. Reporting to the director.

Centre Assistant / Apprentice Role:Experience/Qualifications:



Previous experience in dog care is preferred but not mandatory. Must be able to assist in the daily operations of the centre. Flexibility in working hours is required, with an early start at 7:30 am daily.

About Us:



We are a small, family-run business looking for committed staff members who understand the importance of making a good first impression and being part of a close-knit team. What We Offer:



Training in canine body language, managing and counter-conditioning unwanted behaviours, puppy training, dog training, and basic dog grooming procedures. Other Considerations:



We seek individuals looking for a long-term role, ideally at least a year or more. Career progression opportunities are available as the business expands, including specialisation in certain training or behaviour areas after completing the probation period. These roles are not open to past or present OPW clients.

Other Requirements:



Must live within a 30-minute drive. Well-presented and able to speak good English. Willing to undergo a police check (CRB/DBS) and reference checks. Fit, healthy, and able to remain active for long periods. Able to focus without distraction, work independently, and handle multiple situations simultaneously.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour
