Guaranteed 15 hours per week to start, hours will increase as clients are added to your schedule - the position will transition into full time hours.



Position requires lots of driving - work van is given to successful candidate

Position is Mon - Fri working with occasional house sitting and weekend work

Must have experience working with animals

Not suitable for people with outside commitments

Must live within 8 mile radius or within our operating area


Paragon Pet Care is seeking a reliable and dedicated Dog Walker / Pet care specialist to join our team.

You will be responsible for managing a diverse and demanding client base, providing exceptional care to their pets. This role requires a high level of responsibility, organizational skills, time management, emotional resilience and a deep passion for animals. You will be expected to go above and beyond in meeting the unique needs of each pet and their owner, ensuring that every encounter is not just a service, but an experience.

Key Responsibilities:



Dog Walking - private and group walks of up to 6 dogs (lone working)



Driving to & from clients homes to collect dogs & walk them locally, requires managing a diverse group of dogs on and off lead Managing group behaviour and dynamics Assisting in house dog trainer with training dogs to get ready for pack walks, and to continually reinforce training and correct group dynamics on walks.

Drop - in visits - cats and other species



Responsible for clients home and animals whilst away Litter tray cleaning, feeding, engagement etc.

House- sitting - When a client is away for holiday or events you may be asked to stay in the owners home to look after their pets and home.



Involves staying overnight, caring for the owners home and pets Extended stays of up to 2 weeks are not uncommon

Communication with Owners:



Provide regular, real-time feedback to dog owners about their pets' behavior, including photos and videos during walks.

Report any injuries, health concerns, or unusual behavior observed.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs and preferences.

Participate in ongoing training, including emergency canine first-aid, behaviour training, animal welfare, handling skills & more.

Qualifications:



Animal management level 2/ 3 desirable, but not required



Experience:

Previous experience working with animals.

Experience in a customer-facing role is beneficial.

Must have professional & personal experience with pets, supported by an outstanding cover letter.

Skills:



Responsible & mature person, this job comes with a great deal of responsibility.

Physical fitness to handle large dogs and walk for extended periods in varying weather conditions.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and consistent updates to clients.

Problem-solving abilities to manage emergencies and dog behavior.

High level of emotional intelligence and resilience, with the ability to handle complex and stressful situations.

Time management skills, particularly in managing a dynamic schedule and client expectations.

Smartphone - Must have latest smartphone or recent generation smartphone with high quality image capacity, must be able to use our client management app and take photos proficiently.

Driving Requirements:



Valid UK manual driver's license

Flexibility - this role requires utmost flexibility to cater to last minute bookings requests from clients.

Working Hours:



There are no fixed patterns of work, clients will book in the time slot they need and then we fulfill the requests, however, you can expect work to take place between the hours of 7:30am - 19:00pm on busier days

Flexibility is required.

We guarantee a minimum of 15 hours per week at the start, there is a lot to learn, the hours increase as the candidates abilities increase.

This job is NOT suitable for people with outside commitments -- our team are solely responsible for the welfare and safety of animals whilst owners are away from home or out of the country, our priorities are on the animals we care for.
