Wood is recruiting a Drilling Superintendent to support our client's Operations and Maintenance team on a contract basis.
Hybrid working - 3 days working from Northop's office
The Role
You will work at onshore office, supervision of offshore wellsite operations - diligently plan, organise, implement and report the client's drilling operations, achieving technical objectives in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Ensure drilling operations progress follows the approved well programme and to provide technical advice to the rig site on a daily basis, as required.
Ensure the correct scheduling of drilling materials and services in a timely manner while optimising the cost of transport, materials and manpower within established programmes and budgets.
Administer service contracts providing technical control of contractor performance, also ensuring the control of ongoing drilling expenditure on each contract.
Ensure that offshore drilling operations comply with current Government legislation and Company standards, policies and procedures.
Prepare and evaluate scopes of work and technical specification for drilling rig tendering and prepare/review those for drilling services and equipment.
Provide drilling operations technical advice during pre-qualification and tender evaluation phases in order to ensure that choice of contractors and suppliers fully meet with technical specification and Company standards.
Provide timely and accurate requisitions for all services and materials relevant to drilling operations.
Liaise with HSE to ensure the correct interface of Drilling Contractor procedures with Eni UK SMS.
Ensure the Simultaneous Drilling and Production procedures are reviewed on a regular basis.
Evaluate drilling contractor and service companies' performance and make recommendations for improving future operations.
Review drilling manpower.
Emergency control room duties as defined in the Emergency Procedures Manual.
Weekend Duty Rota as required.
Deputise for the Drilling Manager in his absence during the operations.
Ensure during drilling activities are in compliance with Eni UK Environmental management system and with new regulations (UK) regarding Term Permit (Chemicals).
To ensure full adherence to the Company's Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures and standards.

Expected:
Engineering/Science based qualifications with numerate skills
Drilling Engineering, training and experience. Specific knowledge of drilling related topics
General knowledge of associated disciplines in Geology, Petroleum Engineering and Reservoir
Extensive Operational wellsite experience
The candidate should have some deepwater experience
