Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Driver Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid background in commercial driving, with experience in various vehicle types including flatbed and van delivery. This role is crucial for ensuring that our drivers are well-trained, safe, and efficient in their operations.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive training sessions for new drivers, covering safety protocols, vehicle operation, and company policies. Assess driver performance through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance skills. Develop training materials and resources that align with industry standards and best practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting commercial driving and ensure compliance among trainees. Collaborate with warehouse staff to facilitate the smooth operation of deliveries and logistics. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to drivers to promote continuous improvement in driving techniques and safety awareness.

Requirements

Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid driving licence for relevant vehicle categories. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles to assist trainees with technical issues. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey training material. Experience in warehouse operations is advantageous. Familiarity with flatbed lorries and van delivery processes is preferred. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities.
