Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic
Drum Teacher / Percussion Instructor
to lead an after-schoolPercussion Club
at a primary school located20 minutes from Reading
. This role provides the opportunity to inspire children through rhythm and percussion, helping them develop musical skills, coordination, confidence, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment.The club runs for
one hour per week, 3:30pm - 4:30pm
, on eitherWednesday or Thursday
, giving children a weekly chance to explore drumming and percussion techniques.Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise children during percussion activities, maintaining a safe and positive environment. Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate sessions that develop rhythm, coordination, and confidence. Encourage teamwork, self-expression, and enthusiasm for music. Maintain clear communication with parents and school staff about children's progress. Ensure the percussion instruments and rehearsal space are safe, organized, and ready for use.
Experience & Skills
Experience teaching or leading percussion/drum sessions for children. Ability to engage and motivate children in a structured, fun, and creative way. Strong communication skills in English for interacting with children, parents, and school staff. A background in music education or percussion is highly desirable.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 per week
