To work as part of the preschool team to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children with Additional Needs.

MAIN DUTIES:
1. To support the delivery of differentiated quality teaching and learning for individual children and groups of children, with SEND/SEMH/SALT.
2. To carry out focused learning activities including those from individual SEND support plans, monitoring children's responses through planned observation and recording of achievements against pre-determined targets.
3. To work closely with the SENCO, and other professionals to provide targeted support to children with SEND/SEMH needs, discussing each child's individual needs and providing feedback from planned observations.
4. To participate in supervision and appraisal. To take part in relevant training and group meetings as appropriate to enhance personal and professional development and practice.
5. To advise the pre-school manager of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
6. To challenge situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
7. To positively manage children's behaviour including social interactions, and encouraging positive table manners at snack time/lunch.
8. To attend staff meetings.
9. To participate in parents' meetings, relevant community, and fundraising events.
10. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learned as part of the job.
11. To understand and fully comply with all Policies and Procedures of St Paul's Beckenham Pre-school.
12. To undertake other appropriate duties as directed by the Pre-School Manager and Deputy.

Qualifications - Essential
NVQ or equivalent Early Years qualification Level 3 or a Level 2
Qualifications - Desirable
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Food Hygiene Certificate
Experience/ Key Knowledge & Skills
3-5 years Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting
Strong understanding of early childhood education principles
Excellent communication skills to engage with children and parents
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months
Pay: 13.10 per hour
