Job Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team, providing high-quality care and education to young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, demonstrating excellent management and leadership skills. This role is essential in fostering a nurturing environment where children can thrive and develop their potential.

This is a temporary position we are offering to cover maternity leave but has the potential of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate!

Responsibilities



Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote the development of children's cognitive, social, and emotional skills. Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children to learn and explore. Observe and assess children's progress, ensuring that individual needs are met through tailored learning experiences. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development and well-being. Act as a key person for a group of children, maintaining accurate records, observations, and assessments. Foster strong, positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues. Support the safeguarding and welfare of all children, following safeguarding and child protection policies. Work collaboratively with the nursery team to maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment, both indoors and outdoors. Contribute to planning meetings and staff discussions, sharing ideas and supporting team development. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, nursery policies, and health and safety procedures. Support children's personal, social, and emotional development, encouraging independence and confidence. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and education within the nursery setting. Manage daily routines, ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times. Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.

Qualifications



Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3 or equivalent). Previous experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting is essential. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues. A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development is crucial. Essential:



Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education/Childcare (or equivalent). Experience of working with children aged 0-5 in an early years setting. Sound knowledge of the EYFS and child development. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

Desirable:



Paediatric First Aid certificate. Experience of working as a key person. Additional training in SEND or behaviour management.
Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 13 months

Pay: 12.71 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
