Job Summary



We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team. This role involves nurturing and educating young children in a safe and stimulating environment, fostering their development through play and structured activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, alongside a genuine love for working with children.



The successful candidate must be eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and hold, or be willing to obtain, membership in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.



This role supports the principles of outlined in "Realising the Ambition: Being Me", ensuring that every child feels valued, supported, and empowered in their early learning journey.



Responsibilities



Create and implement engaging educational programmes tailored to the developmental needs of each child, reflecting the key principles of Realising the Ambition and Curriculum for Excellence.

Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth, recognising each child as an individual learner.

Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns, promoting strong partnerships with families.

Supervise daily activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care in line with PVG and safeguarding requirements.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices in early childhood education, while supporting continuous improvement.

Keep accurate records of children's development and progress, adhering to both regulatory requirements and the SSSC Codes of Practice.

Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and maintain SSSC registration.


Experience



Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.

A background in early childhood education is essential.

Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are required for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.

Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide and motivate a team effectively.


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.60 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
