Stepping Stones Childcare (Cornwall) are looking for a level 3 qualified Room leader to come and join our fantastic team who are passionate in providing the best quality care and experiences.

Desirable:

Dbs Food hygiene Paediatric first aid
Candidate needs to be able to work between the hours of 7:45-16:15 term time only.

Performance:

Provide leadership and supervision within the setting to ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children. Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages positive interactions among children. Lead a team of nursery staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Ensure child ratios are maintained at all times. Maintain open and effective communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns. Collaborate with other staff members and management to coordinate events and activities. Implement and enforce health and safety policies to create a secure environment for children and staff. Conduct regular safety drills and ensure that emergency procedures are understood by all staff. Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, development, and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations. Contribute to the development of age appropriate curriculum. Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education and attend relevant training sessions to enhance skills.

Education:

Minimum of a Childcare Level 3 Qualification.

Experience:

Some experience in a similar role.

Skills:

Strong leadership and organisational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of child development principles and best practices. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Must have a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special Can have lots of fun and likes to laugh lots. Can read the same story over and over whilst getting interrupted several times per page. Enjoys getting covered in every sort of messy substance and being able to pull it off. Doesn't mind their name being shouted hundreds of times in one day. Can sing nursery rhymes even if it is out of tune. Must be able to laugh at jokes you don't understand. Enjoys being outside in all weathers, we love the great outdoors. Can impersonate wild animals with full enthusiasm. Has a warm heart and is prepared to be very important and loved by both children and families.
