Position



We are seeking an Early Years Special need educator to join our passionate team at Hillside House Day Nursery.

To lead and coordinate the provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within the nursery, ensuring all children receive inclusive, high-quality early years education tailored to their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities



Act as the designated SENCO for the nursery, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and other relevant legislation. Identify children who may have additional needs and coordinate timely assessments and interventions. Work with identified children each day, setting learning goals and working with the children to meet these goals. Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs)/Support Plans for children with SEND. Liaise with parents/carers to build positive partnerships and ensure they are involved in planning and reviewing their child's support. Work closely with external professionals (e.g. health visitors, speech and language therapists, educational psychologists) to secure appropriate support for children. Maintain accurate and confidential records for children with SEND. Keep up to date with current legislation, guidance, and best practice relating to SEND in early years.

Person Specification



Essential:

Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years Education or Childcare. Relevant experience working with children in an early years setting. Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with staff, parents, and external agencies
