ADAS, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an Ecologist to join our highly skilled ecology team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a home based position based in Kent or Sussex with the majority of work to be within South East England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake baseline habitat surveys, assessments and reports
  • Work alone and with our existing ecologists in the wider region to ensure quality projects are delivered on time for our clients
  • Talk to our clients to ensure quality delivery of projects to deadlines
  • Write technical reports ready for review by your colleagues, such as ecological constraints reports, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and protected species reports
  • Support the team with business development and project management
Person Specification:

Essential:
  • A full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
  • Graduate-level education in a relevant subject
  • Good working knowledge and experience of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques, including protected species surveys and mitigation
  • Excellent written communication skills and be able to produce accurate technical reports to a professional standard
  • A pro-active attitude to managing your own time, finding solutions and ensuring that work is delivered on time and to the required standards
Desirable:
  • CIEEM membership
  • Experience of Biodiversity Net Gain assessment and UKHABs
  • Strong botanical skills (e.g., NVC, Condition Assessments)
  • One protected species licence (e.g., Great Crested Newt or Bats)
Salary and Benefits
  • \xc2\xa324,000 - \xc2\xa329,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
