Hours: 30-40 hours per week (flexible)

Pay: From 15/hour (higher for the right experience)

About TurntableTrader

TurntableTrader is a growing e-commerce business specialising in pre-loved professional DJ equipment. We buy, test, prepare, and sell high-value gear including CDJs, mixers, and turntables to DJs across the UK.

We are scaling and are now looking for someone to take real ownership of day-to-day operations alongside the founder.

This is not a basic assistant role. You'll be trusted with equipment, customers, and operational decisions. The right person will help keep the business running smoothly and will play a key role in scaling operations.

The Role

We're looking for a young, driven DJ who is also interested in e-commerce, operations, and how online businesses work.

You must understand DJ equipment properly. How it should feel, sound, and perform in real-world use.

This role blends hands-on operations, customer interaction, and e-commerce execution. You'll be working closely with the founder and expected to show initiative, solve problems independently, and take responsibility.

Many technical and e-commerce skills can be taught. Initiative, ownership, and work ethic cannot. These qualities are essential for this role.

Core Responsibilities

E-commerce & Operations

Packing and preparing customer orders to a high standard Ensuring orders are dispatched accurately and on time Keeping the office, storage, and stock areas organised Supporting the founder with day-to-day operational tasks Managing deliverys, and returns
Equipment Handling & Quality Control

Testing DJ equipment to confirm it is in full working order Cleaning and preparing equipment to a professional resale standard Carrying out quality control checks before sale or collection Identifying issues early and flagging them clearly (no repairs required)
Customer Interaction

Meeting customers in person for collections or viewings Chatting on WhatsApp to customers Taking payments from customers confidently and professionally Communicating clearly about equipment condition and orders Handling basic customer enquiries and returns
Content & Growth Support

Shooting basic content or videos of equipment (phone-based is fine) Assisting with product photos and listings Supporting general e-commerce growth where needed
Who We're Looking For

Essential

You are a Young DJ with real experience using professional equipment You understand sound systems and know what to look for when testing gear High agency - you take initiative and don't wait to be told what to do Strong problem-solving skills Reliable, organised, and detail-focused Comfortable speaking to customers and taking payments Physically capable of lifting and moving DJ equipment
We can teach systems, processes, and tools. We cannot teach initiative, ownership, or hard work.If you naturally take responsibility and look for ways to improve things, you'll do very well here.

Strong Advantage (but not required)

Previous experience working in an e-commerce business Familiarity with Shopify or online order systems Interest in learning more about e-commerce, logistics, or operations Content creation or basic video skills
What This Role Is Not

Not a passive assistant role Not a DJ technician or repair position Not suitable for someone without DJ equipment knowledge
