Out of Hand is an established Design, Print, Distribution and Outdoor specialist based in Edinburgh and Bristol. Working in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council we deliver the Outdoor Advertising scheme for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The project is to supply, install, maintain & remove all the external advertising (posters & similar formats) for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025. In 2024 there were over 7km of posters throughout the entire city with over 500 national and international clients, including some of the largest Entertainment Management Companies and Comedy Promoters within the industry. Our 2025 project is on track to be on a similar scale. We work directly with a variety of stakeholders, and utilise over 800 sites throughout the city centre to completely transform the city during the busy festival season.

The Role:



As Team Supervisor you will work closely with the Senior Build Supervisor, Operations Manager and Project Manager to organize the teams and assign daily tasks. Supervisory duties will include managing the daily tasks of smaller groups and coordinating with the Senior Build Supervisor, including escalating any issues to senior management. You will be expected to lead the team through example and help maintain a positive dynamic attitude in your team.

The Advertisement Installation team will make up the majority of the team in Edinburgh and will be involved in structure assembly, poster installation and maintenance, and project clear down. You will work directly under the Senior Build Supervisor, with support from the Administrative team, Operations Manager and Project Manager. Depending on which vehicles our insurance qualifies you to drive, you will assist in the distribution of Heras panels and feet to advertising sites in the initial stages of the project followed by the Correx poster boards. You will be expected to feedback progress and issues to the Senior Build Supervisor who can then escalate these to upper management.

You will be expected to download our company specific apps onto your personal phone in order to assist record shifts and document the project. All members of the Advertisement Installation Team must wear company specific uniform and PPE at all times. The ideal candidate for this role should be prepared for a fast-paced team environment, where they will be working outside under direction and responsible for various aspects of this project.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:



Managing a small team and ensure they complete their daily tasks

Coordinate with Senior Build Supervisor and Operations Manager to complete tasks

Escalate any issues to the Senior Build Supervisor or Operations Manager

Understand and carry out temporary structure installations in accordance with build notes.

Coordinate teams and assign each with a job list with the help of the Operations Manager each day.

Plan schedules and routes in advance to ensure maximum efficiency from the team.

Ensure all risk assessments and method statements relative to the build activity are adhered to, and flag any updates required.

Feedback to the Senior Build Supervisor or Operations Manager any issues arising from requests from local stakeholders regarding structures adjacent to their business.

Use our software to record proof of posting, this will involve downloading apps onto your personal phone and using them to either scan QR codes or photograph structures and client artwork. You will be given training.

Day to day supervision of your own team. This includes ensuring your team is wearing company specific uniform and PPE at work.

Other general duties include:



- Assisting with building and installing all the advertisement structures

- Driving and helping with the distribution or delivery of advertisement material to locations in central Edinburgh

- Assisting with maintenance of advertising boards and cleaning around structures and street furniture

- Assisting with the project disassembly

Desired Skills and Experience:

Further Information:



The Project will run from Monday 7th July until Friday 5th September 2025.

We will be running a 7 day a week operation, with the option of Evening shifts.

Daytime shifts from 8.00am to 6.00pm. Evening shifts from 6.00pm to 2.00am.

Overtime will be available if candidates are interested and paid at an enhanced rate of 1.25 times standard hourly rate per hour worked over 42.5 hours in the week.

Any evening work undertaken between 10pm and 7am will also equate to an enhanced rate of 1.5 times hourly rate.

Vehicles / insurance and uniforms will be supplied. Please bring your own steel toe cap/safety boots.
